Core Units

Practical Reflexology

A large unit with elements running throughout the course.  It includes the tenets and theories of reflexology.  The history, how reflexology works, how we interact with, and help our clients professionally. How to refer, (and to whom). Plus, you will hone those important practical skills, including hand reflexology, always aided by your experienced tutor. There are also 3 observed client practical assessments as part of the unit.

Practice Management

Here you will study the legal and professional requirements of running your own business. Cash flows and business plans form part of this unit. These help you to plan your future, and in addition to the core unit, we are also able to give you ideas and methods that we have used in building and running our own business.

Anatomy, Physiology & Pathologies for Reflexologists

This unit provides the underpinning knowledge of anatomy and physiology for reflexology practice and how to use this to support your clients. Students will learn how the body systems are interdependent and how the pathologies are reflected in the feet. We look at how stress affects the body and cover homeostasis.

Practical Unit - Case Studies

This unit is where all those skills you are learning come together as you carry out a series of case studies on clients. These are recorded and written to specific criteria which evolves with you as you develop your practical ability, and your knowledge grows.

Additional Units

We include some additional units;

  • Introduction to Nutrition for Reflexologists
  • Introduction to using Reflexology during Pregnancy

FAQs

How long is the course?

The course runs over 9 months of attending one weekend per month.  By the last weekend you will have completed all your theory and will be well on your way with completing the case study treatments.  But you will need to expect that you will be still doing case study treatments for another 3-4 months (it will depend on you).  This is why your membership of Professional Reflexology and your insurance covers you for 18 months.

How large is the class size?

I have a maximum of 6 students.  This is so I can provide you with the best support I can as individuals, and, as as a group.  We meet for one weekend per month for the course but we also meet online half way through each month for catch up, check there are no problems, answer any questions and maybe for some teaching.  You also have a WhatsApp Group where you can ask any questions and will get a quick response and of course there is text, phone and email access to myself.

Are there any extra costs?

Yes.

You will need to purchase a couch or lafuma chair to carry out your home treatments and to bring to the practical days on the course weekends.  Information will be provided when you have booked your place on the course.  You will also need towels, blanket, pillow, talc, cream and cleanser.

You will receive a free foot and hand chart.
